Address, times and travel

The verified visitor address is Moritzburger Landstraße 299, 01129 Dresden. The grounds are open daily from 07:00 to 18:00 from January to March and again from November to December; from April to October they remain open until 20:00. A bus serves the Heidefriedhof stop. Tram 3 provides another route to its terminus, followed by a walk of about ten minutes. Parking is available directly at the cemetery.

A cemetery with a woodland character

Heidefriedhof was established between 1934 and 1936. Its natural character has been retained, with paths and planting bands dividing burial areas within the wooded setting. The operator carefully distinguishes the larger original site from the 25 hectares currently used as cemetery space. The ceremony hall was built from 1948 to 1950 and has 80 seats.

Orientation and remembrance

Several memorial and honorary burial areas are located on the grounds. The main marker identifies the location of the extensive cemetery, while the operator’s orientation material helps with individual memorial areas and burial plots. For a particular grave, obtain or bring the section, plot, row and grave number.
